4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

For our film, we would want to target a specific audience, as said before in this evaluation. The age group of around 16+ would be a target for us, due to the use of swearing, blood etc.

During pre-production, we sent out questionnaires as to what genre of film people would want to see most. Teenagers would also be able to relate due to clothing, the way the characters and how certain body language is shown.

As can be seen, we asked people about genres of film to find out who would be the best people to appeal to.

From the answers we decided that a horror/thriller film was the way to go, and that the comedy part we had originally thought of had to be let go.

We realised that through this change, people would expect us to have a more fearful approach. This can be seen in the change of the treatment and also how the script has drastically changed from when it was first drafted as we believe that the silence of certain characters would enhance this fear and would create a more thrilling experience overall.

And due to this change in direction, the rating of our film had to be changed as certain comical things had to be removed.
